Robusta and Arabica represent two distinct coffee origins with dramatically different flavor profiles, growing conditions, and market positions. For specialty roasters, understanding these differences is essential to sourcing the right beans for your clientele.

Arabica thrives at higher elevations—typically 1,200 to 2,200 meters—where cooler temperatures and volcanic soils create complexity and nuance. Our Kanungu Arabica benefits from these exact conditions, developing jasmine, stone fruit, and chocolate notes that appeal to specialty enthusiasts.

Robusta, by contrast, grows at lower elevations and delivers higher caffeine content, earthy body, and crema potential—making it ideal for espresso blends and commercial applications. Uganda's robust production regions near the Congo border deliver exceptional value-to-quality ratios.

At Gorilla Summit Coffee, we source both origins from smallholder networks across Uganda's premium zones. Whether your roastery needs single-origin clarity or blend foundation, we deliver consistency and traceability that specialty roasters demand.
